I spent 23 years in industry in a range of roles before qualifying as a person-centred counsellor in 2001.  This type of counselling places emphasis on your ability to find your own solutions, with the right support.  I continued to train further in different therapeutic approaches and now work in an integrative way, which means I use the best approach to fit your particular needs.  I have experience of working with children and adults in a variety of environments (prison, primary, secondary and SEBD schools and community organisations).
I see children, parents and adults in my private practice, based at home – a comfortable and safe place to help you feel relaxed and supported. I aim to bring warmth and humour to any working relationship.  I am very honest and down to earth - no airy-fairyness!

I am fully insured and an accredited member of the BACP, which means that my practice has been deemed to meet their standards for a competent, ethical and independent practitioner.  This means more than just being on the accredited register, as so many other counsellors are.  I'm also a member of their Counselling Children & Young People and Private Practice divisions.  I have regular supervision to ensure good ethical practice.

I run training courses and workshops on topics such as:
  • Assertiveness and self confidence
  • Building self esteem in your child
